For over 50 years, Banner Commercial has undertaken the mission of becoming a world-class supplier of metal materials and value-added services to customers in a wide variety of industries requiring precision ground products. During this time, Banner has become North America’s largest independent producer of precision turned and polished bar. Our ability to readily supply an extensive portfolio of materials is a direct result of strategic supplier relationships with domestic and international mills, regional service centers, and master distributors that have been forged over decades. We pride ourselves on the ability to provide the broadest offering of materials and value-added services to a multitude of OEMs, Contract Manufacturers, and Precision Machine Shops serving the industrial, automotive, and aerospace industries. 2022
Development of new location in Windsor, CT to provide stocking and value-added servicesto the New England market.
Expansion of the Supra Alloys facility in Camarillo, CA, adding precision grinding and straightening capabilities, and expanding the product range to include aerospace grade nickel-based alloys.
2021
MiddleGround Capital acquires National Kwikmetal Service (NKS) and incorporates them as a division of Banner. With 3 facilities in the USA and 1 in Mexico, NKS specializes in slit coil and precision blanking of aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and nickel alloys.
2020
The Charlotte, NC facility is closed, with production moved to the Strongsville, OH and Carol Stream, IL facilities.
MiddleGround Capital acquires Edge International and Supra Alloys and incorporates them into the Banner portfolio, adding Titanium Plate and Sheet, and expanding opportunities in the aerospace and medical markets.
2019
Banner is acquired by MiddleGround Capital.
2018
Banner acquires P&M Supply, located in Lubbock, TX. Renamed Banner P&M Supply, this division specializes in the supply of Pump Shaft Quality (PSQ) and Bearing Shaft Quality(BSQ) raw materials for the irrigation, hydraulic, marine and industrial markets.
2016
Banner Medical launches Greenfield facility in Warsaw, IN that is dedicated to processing medical device, instrument, ambulatory care and patient handling material. The Warsaw, IN facility has in-house centerless grinding, waterjet cutting, precision cut to length, near-net shape (blanking) and ultrasonic testing capability. This state-of-the-art facility is ISO13485 certified.
2014
Banner Medical forms partnership with Sandvik as the exclusive distribution partner for 316LVM, 316 LSM, and select Titanium materials sold into North America.
2012 and 2013
Banner expands its value-added services offering by providing ultrasonic immersion testing, line marking, processing of flats and shaped material, polishing, water-jet cutting, and near net shaped parts processing capability to OEMs and Contract Manufacturers.
2011
Strongsville, OH facility achieves ISO 9001 certification; Charlotte, NC facility achieves ISO 13485 medical certification.
2010
Banner Medical facility in Carol Stream, IL achieves ISO 13485 medical certification. Banner Medical starts the IQ, OQ, and PQ validation process per FDA 820 protocol. All administrative and manufacturing processes are reviewed and tested to assure Banner Medical conforms to medical device industry standards.
2009
Banner breaks ground and completes a 15,000-square-foot expansion to the Carol Stream, IL facility. This state-of-the-art expansion was solely built to address the needs and requirements of the medical device industry.
2008
Banner expands the Strongsville, OH facility with a 22,000-square-foot addition for increased capacity and capability.
Banner Medical is launched with a mission to provide the finest defect-free materials to the medical device industry.
2006
Banner acquires Northern Cross Steel’s Strongsville, OH facility. The acquisition of this facility further expands our capacity and manufacturing capability by enabling Banner to process bars up to 9″ in outside diameter and up to 40′ in length.
2005
Banner opens the Charlotte, NC facility. Acquiring this facility expanded our manufacturing capacity by adding 50,000 square feet of production area. In addition, manufacturing capability was enhanced by the ability to process bars up to 7″ outside diameter and up to 30′ in length.
1997
Banner relocates to a 75,000-square-foot facility in Carol Stream, IL. The new facility is state of the art in terms of its design, layout, and equipment utilized for the processing of centerless ground bar products.
1961
Banner Service Corporation was founded in the city of Chicago, IL. Over the course of the next 36 years, Banner grows to $18 million in sales by establishing itself as a premier supplier of specialty bar products to the automotive, paper, construction, fluid power, and industrial markets in North America.
